Bigger and Better Quilted Placemats from Samelia's Mum

A couple of days ago, I mentioned some these placemats that I'd been working on. Well, they're all now bound (with my favourite black and white stripe fabric which I purchased at Spotlight a few years ago) finished and all ready to use at dinnertime starting tonight.

Conquering Quilty Fears - Improvisation from Samelia's Mum




For the 'Conquering Quilty Fears' January challenge, I thought I'd start with a style that I'm not very comfortable with... Improvisation in quilting. 

Gosh, I find this style quite difficult. I'm a person who tends to prefer order (structure) and set guidelines or a pattern to follow, so improvisation has always been tricky for me.
